A Family Tradition of service
Garrett Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1971 by Robert and Emily Garrett of Niles, Michigan to provide analytical and biological testing services for the dairy industry in Michigan and Northern Indiana. Over the decades testing services were expanded to include food, water, beverage, personal care products and the environment to a nation-wide customer base.
Robert (Bob) was well-known in the industry for his expertise in food chemistry and microbiology and became the go-to source for dairy farms, creameries, food processing plants and commissaries throughout Michigan. He was recognized as being a problem solver and leader who would always go the extra mile to insure his customers were providing safe, high-quality products. He was known to make visits at all hours of the day and night to service his clients through any type of emergency they may have encountered.
This level of service remains a core value of Garrett Labs today. The principles of customized service, quick turnaround times, professional integrity, confidentiality, accurate results and exceptional customer care are now exemplified by the children and grandchildren of Robert and Emily. This new generation at Garrett Labs is committed to maintaining Bob’s legacy of service and expertise while navigating today’s demanding quality standards and consumer safety requirements.
